365 Day 296. We have once again been hit with below average tempatures and above average rainfalls. It rained and blew so hard today that the trees were dropping big piles of leaves, some before their time. I am not sure what impact this will have on the fall color season, but it can’t help things much and makes it difficult to get out and photograph it.
Day 295: Burden of Love
•October 22, 2009 • Leave a Comment365 Day 295. I knew going into this project that it was not easy. The concept sounds simple, all you do is take a picture a day. Whats hard about that? Well, I have found it is hard coming up with interesting inventive ideas on days where nothing special happens. It’s also hard after a long day at work followed up by a busy evening. The picture part doesn’t factor all the time sorting / picking / editing / uploading / and story telling about the pictures. But, in the end I feel it is all worth it, and it does help you develop into a better photographer which I need to do.
Day 294: Witch Craft
•October 21, 2009 • Leave a Comment365 Day 294. Rachel came home from Gems again with another cute little project. They took canning jars filled with popcorn and decorated them up for halloween. The title of the picture is pun intended =)
Day 293: Tiny Invaders
•October 20, 2009 • Leave a Comment365 Day 293. Every year when it starts to get cold, we manage to get lady bugs showing up in the house. I am not sure where or how they find their way in, but we dont see a lot of them. Last year there were a ton of stink bugs trying unsucessfully to get in but they may be too big. Have not seen many of them this year, but wiped out many with my spray. I leave the lady bugs alone.
Day 292: Happy Ending
•October 19, 2009 • Leave a Comment365 Day 292. It was a great end to the football season as we went head to head against rival South Christian. It was a close and tough game, but Calvin played awesome and came out on top. Ryan had another great night, and on top of some great defensive plays caught a pass and got into the end zone for his first touchdown. The smile on his face says it all.
Day 291: Changing
•October 18, 2009 • Leave a Comment365 Day 291. One of my favorite trees in the fall is our Dogwood. It never gets any super bright reds yellows or orange but turns some cool blended colors before dropping. I don’t know if that is typical of all Dogwoods, or just this particular dwarf.
Day 290: Young Love
•October 17, 2009 • Leave a Comment365 Day 290. We got to go to a wedding as guests for once, after taking pictures or serving in some way the last several we attended. I still brought my camera (of course) since I wouldn’t know what to do with myself otherwise. It was a nice ceremony and reception, and was fun to be there without any pressure.
Day 289: Sicky
•October 16, 2009 • Leave a Comment365 Day 289. With all the sickness going around right now, everyone is having trouble staying healthy. Ryan was a little sick for a day or too (not too much to play football) but then Rachel came down with a nasty case of the flu. She was only sick for about three days, but is still not 100% yet and is getting her strength back.
Day 288: Seasons
•October 15, 2009 • Leave a Comment365 Day 288. I am always amazed by the changing of seasons. It seems like one day everything is green, and all of a sudden it changes over night. Some of our bushes in the front of the house turn a pretty red color, not quite to the brightness of a burning bush but still cool.
Day 287: Donate
•October 14, 2009 • Leave a Comment365 Day 287. Over the years at work, there have been a lot of bikes purchased and brought in. Too many. Concerns with safety caused us to pull these bikes to eleminate that potential for injury, and so we needed a home for them all. Someone came up with the idea of the Holland Rescue mission, and they were happy to take them and refurbish them for those in need of transportation.
